ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR INTRODUCTION

Graphic designer must have been very familiar with the software vector graphics editor developed and marketed by Adobe Systems this. Adobe Illustrator is a program / application to design or create an image (in the computer of course) is a vector-based drawing object that is created through a combination of lines and dots (dot) based on a particular mathematical formula. Well below are some general information about this software.

Adobe Systems has introduced 16 versions of Adobe Illustrator, namely:

  • Versions 1-1.6 (Illustrator 88): First developed for the Apple Macintosh in December 1986 and is a companion product of Adobe Photoshop.
  • Versions 2-5: Version 2.0 is the first version of Adobe Illustrator for Windows was released in early 1989. However, the period for the Windows version is still less popular with CorelDRAW.
  • Versions 6-10: With the introduction of version 6 in 1996, Adobe Illustrator has been equipped with some important changes, such as the use of the same user interface with Adobe Photoshop
  • CS-CS5 Versions: Illustrator CS is the first version to include 3-dimensional capabilities allowing users to extrude or revolve shapes do to create simple 3D objects. Illustrator CS2 (version 12) is available for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. This is the latest version for the Mac that does not run natively on Intel processors. Among the new features included in Illustrator CS2 is Live Trace, Live Paint, a control palette and custom workspaces. Illustrator CS3 adds an update on the Control Bar, align individual points, multiple Crop Areas, Color Guide panel and the Live Color feature. Illustrator CS4 was released in October 2008 that has the ability to create multiple artboards that allows us to create multiple versions of a work in a single document. Illustrator CS5 was released in April 2010.Salah one new feature is the Perspective Grid tool taken from FreeHand.
  • Version CS6: Illustrator CS6 is the generation of 16 and is the latest version. Several new features have been added. In the adobe website, mentioned that this version is faster and more intuitive, with rock-solid stability when working on complex files. Can create and edit patterns up to 75% faster. Automatically gather all your files for production in a few clicks. Work faster and more efficiently with a new streamlined interface.


Advantages of Adobe Illustrator is:

  • Shape and resolution is still maintained even though the size of the altered
  • Results vector images can be printed with high resolution
  • Storage space for efficient image object
  • Adobe Illustrator is user friendly, which greatly facilitates the user to use and access the wide range of features, especially with the grouping system facilities through the menu facility, toolbox, palette and so on
  • Adobe Illustrator is able to handle a variety of designs from the simple to the very complex nature, and be able to export the final result of a design in a variety of formats to suit your needs with quality dependable
  • Adobe Illustrator is highly compatible with various other software for various purposes end, such as print interests, desktop publishing, web publishing and other

Disadvantages of Adobe Illustrator is:

  • Images tend to look flat / flat and has a thick cartoon color
  • difficult to produce realistic images / similar photo

AUTOCAD INTRODUCTION

Auto cad is a software to design an image so that it becomes information. This Autocad 2D and 3D can be shaped so that the image looks more real and detail. Autocad is usually used for manufacturing and engineering parts.
Some advantages of using CAD than manual drawing are:
1. The image quality is constant, not too dependent on drawing skills as an image manually.
2. Relatively more accurate and faster process for using the computer.
3. Can be edited, plus-less without having to start from scratch.
4. Can be a data base that stores important information that is created by the drafter and can be accessed directly by other users.
5. Can be made library of standard components or components that are drawn / used repeatedly in the picture (for example: baud, myrrh, symbols, etc.) To facilitate and accelerate the process of making pictures.
6. It is convenient and practical in documentation, duplication, and storage.
7. Can be made with different colors making it more attractive and easy to understand.

Computers are a tool of information or data processing with the working mechanism of input-process-output. In a CAD system:
1. Input devices
Serves to conduct elections menu and various commands (command) to make the image as you wish. This device can be: keyboard, mouse, joystick, thumb wheel, light pen, etc.
2. Processing device
In the form of software (software) and corresponding programming system. There are several kinds of software that is used for this, the most common is AutoCAD.
3. Output device
the function is to show the results of the image that has been created, it can be in the form visula display on the screen or printed by a printer display.

COREL DRAW INTRODUCTION

Corel draw is graphic design software that is used to make various of design, such as logo, business card, calendar, poster, etc. it very famous in digital world.

The first step to start corel draw is

corel draw has following below

TITLE BAR
Giving information about file name and software that is being opened. On top of right corner , there is a maximize button to create the preview of coreldraw in full size.

MENU BAR
Menu bar is a menu line that contains file , edit , layout, type, element, utilities, view, window and help, all this command located in that menu.

STANDARD TOOL BAR
Commands that’s  often used  can be access through standard toolbar. It has some icons that’s we often use, like to make a new file, open file, save file, print and others. Only with one click at the icon then command will directly be applied by corel.

PROPERTY BAR
Property Bar is a command line that is unique, because the preview wil always change and the commands will adapt with an active icon in tool box. Such like an active tool box in zoom tool, it will show property from zoom tool. Also other tools here , we will get faster to access commands related to an active tool.

RULER
The usage is to help  us in making an exact size, because it has horizontal ruler with unit of measure that we can change at any time.

PRINTABLE AREA
It is an area which is our design is located to print. For designing, we are allow to draw at out of printable area, but when we will print, it must be located in printable area

COLOR PALLETE
Color is an important element  in a graphic design. CorelDRAW gives various of facility to access and choose various of  color model. We can access color tools on screen color palette, color dialog, and also color roll up to choose fill color.
TOOL BOX
It is a row of  icon that provide varios of commands to create an object, to edit object and  interactive effects and others.
STATUS BAR

The function is to give information about running operation, coordinat mouse position, and also information about color in an object that’s being activated, both color fill and outline fill.
